Saturday Recreation Program

During the school year, the recreation program offered to our youth is held on Saturday afternoons. This program usually runs from 1pm to 4 pm and is operated out of Calvin Church located on the corner of First and Commercial Streets. This program is for children, ages 6 and up, and young adults who have physical and/or developmental disabilities. Our charity is committed to providing a safe and fun environment. Activities include arts and crafts, music, games, outdoor activities, swimming at the YMCA, mini-putting, activities at One Kids Place as well as participation in community events.

Summer Recreation Program

During July and August, NADY is pleased to offer two summer camps.

  1. A morning camp is held from 9 am - 12 pm for participants 6 to 10 years of age.
  2. An afternoon camp is held from 1pm - 4:30pm for participants aged 11 and up.

Horseback Riding

NADY sponsors horseback riding for special needs youth interested in participating. This program has proven physical benefits for balance, coordination and range of motion in the joints. It has proven to improve self-esteem and teach them responsibility when caring for the horse. NADY and Rotary for Kids are offering to pay no more than a total of $200 (approximately 8 lessons).   Any expenses beyond $200 will be the rider's responsibility.

Downhill Skiing

NADY provides the excitement of downhill skiing for interested children with disabilities. Volunteer trained instructors offer participants of this program the opportunity to learn how to ski to the best of their individual potential. They do this by using specialized equipment and their professional experience!

PADDLE

PADDLE is a Learning Centre that provides special needs adults with opportunities and choices in learning experiences and community involvement.

NADY Van

The NADY van is used to transport individuals in wheelchairs to and from the recreation programs offered by NADY. It also is available to families in the community who have children in wheelchairs to help them with transportation to out-of-town medical trips and for special outings. Drivers must have a valid class G drivers license and be over the age of 18.
